And if you think Islam would not prevent us from doing art......look around you. How many muslims out there are busy promoting art? preserving art?

Sometimes, I think a little politics is good. It helps us "think" about the future of our passion for this industry.

Money, money, money

Meryl Streep sang the song in Mamma Mia!  All she wanted was money!!!  But I wonder if any of us can comprehend the numbers behind the dollar signs floating around right now.

One trillion is the number 1 followed by 12 zeros.

Yet our current national debt is at $10 TRILLION.  Ten times that amount!!!

The Milky Way galaxy has an estimated 200 billion stars, so if each star cost $1, you bould buy FIVE Milk Way galaxies full of stars for $1 trillion. Have you looked at the Milky Way lately???

Your share of the national debt this moment is $34,769.40 and that includes every man, woman, teenager, child and infant in this country!  It includes everyone on welfare, social security, disability....all the illegal immigrants....every individual in this country including those who don't pay taxes.  

So if you bring a child into the world today, they already owe $34,769.40  plus whatever else we choose to add to it.  Each and every one of your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews....and their unborn children owe that amount.

Sort of seems this is taxation without representation.  Those unborn children certainly were not represented as our current congress makes the decision to pass a bill that will create so much interest that the next FOUR generations can't even pay the interest on what we are borrowing today.

$1 trillion is $2,739,726,000 per DAY in spending.   Our government is going to be spending almost $3 billion every single day this year in money that it doesn't have - that it has to borrow!!!  

Did you go see the new movie "Confessions of a Shopaholic?"  Perhaps it's a movie you should recommend to your senators and representatives!  LOL!  I saw it last night - cute chick flick.....but I think our government could do well by simply selling off what it already owns and not buying a thing it can't pay cash for- you'll have to see the movie!

I'm going to start campaigning right now for the next presidential election. We already need a new face....someone who will take literal financial responsibility for the spending in this country.  And I will not be supporting anyone who voted to pass this current "emergency" spending bill.  You do all realize that this is not the normal budget bill.....that is still coming up later this year!!!

PS.  To all of the "marilyn's" out there....not only am I an artist, but I have an MBA with a major in finance.  I'm a retired civil servant (federal government employee).  One of my jobs was to take legislation that congress passed and turn it into policy.  I have done plenty of research.  But most important, it's my blog and I can write what I want,  so don't bother to email me and tell me I'm "out of line"!    LOLOL!!!

While visiting Isreal in 2005, I was amazed at how much the Jews who reside there pray. Of course, they prayed at the wall. But they prayed at every wall, even in the airports. They prayed every second they were not doing something else. And I have thought a lot about that ever since.



Tonight, on the eve of the election, all one can do is pray. Pray for God's will to be done. I received an excellent email on that subject today and thought it worth sharing parts of it here - it was a prayer asking for forgiveness for the things we have done as a country:

We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem.
We have abused power and called it politics.
We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

I can think of a hundred other sins this nation has committed. But I fear beyond reason that our next President will commit the greatest sin of all - helping this nation turn it's back on Israel.

King David said, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee."

and Isaiah wrote: woe to those who call evil good and good evil.

We need to pray for Israel and if we want to prosper as a nation, we need to love Israel.

We need to understand the difference between good and evil.

When you look at religion - it changes a bit:

2.1 billion Christian (Catholic, Protestant, Eastern Orthodox and more)

900 million Hinduism
376 million Buddhism
394 million Chinese traditional

21% of the world's population is currently Islam (Muslim). 1.5 billion people. That is FIVE times the US population.

There are 5 Muslims in the world for every single American citizen.

Why do we think we are safe? Why do we think they could never out-number, over-power and over-take us in any war?

And why is everyone covering up the fact that Obama is Muslim? He has stated that his father was Muslim.

He stated: "In our household, the Bible, The Koran, and the Bhagavad Gita sat on the shelf...."

When Obama was age 6, his mother married Lolo Soetore, a Muslim. They moved to Jakarta, Indonesia, where Obama attended a Muslim school for the next 5 years. Indonesia is a predominantly Muslim country.

He was listed as a Muslim on the registration form for the Catholic school, Strada Asisia, where he attended grades 1 - 3.

He attended a Muslim mosque with his stepfather as a child.

And the Muslim religion states that if your father is Muslim, you are Muslim. Obama may not be a "practicing" Muslim, but he was born one, and the rest of the world, especially the Muslim world, views him as one.

No one wants to be racist in this election. However, some years ago, Michelle Obama wrote that she would

"utilise all of my present and future resources to benefit (the black) community first and foremost".

I wonder what is racist if that isn't?

I wonder if electing someone born a Muslim will lead us to the path where we are forced to accept that as our religion, or leave this nation. I wonder if a vote for Obama is a vote to end the America that so many of us know and love.

Will it put a muzzle on free speech?

I heard that a vote for Obama is a vote for socialism. And then I read this article

And was Obama actually born in Kenya? Obama Crimes has now had over 71M hits. That is pretty substantial math in my book!

And allegations his grandmother said he was born there?

Freedom of speech

I'll bet about now my regular readers are wondering what the heck happened to my blog? WHERE'S THE ART????

Well, I'm physically somewhere in the middle of the Caribbean Islands - on a cruise - with my family. And thought I would use this time to pre-post thoughts I've been having for quite some time. Things that I've written and didn't have time to post. Feel free to unsubscribe! Or just delete. Or read and laugh! But I hope a few of you might read and walk away with a new or different perspective on what is going on in the world today.

I read an article on Obama's thugocracy and was amazed that we are not discussing this.

But then I think it's kind of funny! Go ahead, sue me! With the financial mess we are all in - I'm worth less than nothing! LOL!!!

I am going to ask questions. That way, I'm not "stating facts" - oh what the heck - sue me anyway!

Why did they postpone indefinitely sentencing Tony Rezko? He was convicted. Is it because Obama can pardon him if Obama is elected President? How many other pardons will Obama make? Why are we not talking about the things Obama could do if he were elected President?

Who will he appoint as our supreme court judges?

Is Obama of "like mind" with men like Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright?

And what if McCain had ties with such individuals? Would we even let him run? Why ae we tolerant of Obama's past choices for relationships?

But I think the question I would like to have answered most is "will freedom of speech" as we know it today come to an end?

Jen-isms

You wouldn't like me as President! You'd never vote for me. But I thought it would be quite fun to list some of my own "isms"!

You will think Palinisms are great after reading Jenisms! LOL!!! But there are days in my life when I wake up and just scratch my head and wonder what the rest of the world is thinking.....



1. Who gave you a gift certificate on the day you were born that guaranteed you an easy life? NO ONE! So why do you expect it?

2. We were not all CREATED equal! My son who was born with a seizure disorder was not created equal to my son who was born with asthma. And neither one of them were created equally to any other healthy child. My son with the seizure disorder should NOT be given equal opportunities. No one in their right mind should hire him to climb up on a roof top and clean chimneys! DUH! People who write rules for our government and judges who regulate them just do not think!

3. Every moment in life is a choice. You choose every single moment. Live with the outcome of the choices you make. After all, you made the choice. If you buy a car (new or used) and then complain you can't afford health insurance - that was a choice you made. Live with it. Don't expect anyone to give you a car and health insurance. Make smart choices.

4. Taxes and death. Two things that have been around forever. Tax everyone (personal, business, religious, non-profits) at a flat 10% of gross receipts. No write-offs. No deductions. Fair. Equitable. The rich would be taxed equally to the poor. Corporations could not use 5-star resorts as a tax write-off. Think of the income to the government if those huge mega churches had to pay 10% of their gross receipts back to the government!

5. Buy now, pay now. Give credit to those who deserve it. Return to the 25% rule. You can get credit up to 25% of your net income. You can buy a house that is only 4 times your annual salary. That means if you earn $25K per year, you can qualify for a house worth $100K. With a 25% deposit. Think about it. How much credit would you have been offered with those rules? Would you have your current debt had these rules been followed? Would your home be worth less than what you owe on it?

6. Speak my language. It is a requirement to learn and understand English in order to become a citizen of this country. If you do not want to become a citizen, then leave. If you do not want to learn to speak, read, write, understand and communicate in English, leave. It is a choice.

7. Understand languages. The Bible really says that a tithe is a tax. But a gift is what you have in excess. Give gifts to those who are in need. If you were taxed at 10%, that leaves you 90%. 25% for credit (house payment, etc.) that should leave you with plenty of your income to live on and plenty to give to those in need. The Bible also says, "I will bless them that bless thee." Understand that the Bible is a book written by Jews, about Jews, for Jews. Understand Hebrew and Greek, not King James's English. Remember, James would have you beheaded if you didn't write what he wanted to read!!! God said He will bless those that bless the Jews. If you want to be blessed, send your gifts to Israel, not your local church. Give it a year and see what your return is. You might be surprised!

7. Eliminate entitlements. Who said you were entitled to anything? Save at least 10% of your gross income your entire life. Self-insure yourself for health and life. They did it 200 years ago. Let's do it again. Once again, go back up and reread "choices". If you buy your child the latest video game equipment rather than putting the money aside in savings, do not expect the government to fund your retirement or operation because of the "bad" choices you made.

8. Ban insurance. I once met a guy who started a life insurance company. He quickly sold millions of policies. I asked him how he expected to pay them off when the policy owners started to die off in 50 or so years. He said it wasn't his problem, he was going to sell the company long before that. As consumers, we have made a choice to invest in insurance companies: life, health, car, disability.....and there is no way any of them can pay off 100% of their future promises.

9. The new workplace is home. Eliminate offices and commuter traffic by allowing everyone to work from home. My neighbor is a vet and I can take my pets to him as easily as I can get in the car and drive down the street to his office. Zoning prohibits him from working at home. My husband works from home, but his company still maintains an office for him in a building. Who pays for that? You! The consumer who buys their products. The consumer is the only person who ends up paying for all those things that a company does besides make the product you buy. If you don't understand that premise, email me!

10. Put God first. In schools, in jobs, in life. If we enforced the 10 commandments, how much regulation would we need? Would there even be prisons? Follow Biblical rules:
a. An eye for and eye and a tooth for a tooth. If you get in a car blind drunk and hit me head on in my car, and my arm is cut off, then I get to cut off your arm in a nationally televised reality show. After 4 or 5 shows, would you drive drunk?
b. If you steal from me you work for me for free for SEVEN years. I'll bet no one would have to lock their doors or own a safe!
c. Israel is irrigating the desert, building greenhouses, growing food for a future world. Why are we not doing the same thing here? What are we doing for future generations?

So, like I said, you most likely would never vote for me, and are probably upset by some of my ideas. But take a moment and consider that 200 years ago, this nation did not have welfare, social security, a stock market, health and life insurance, prisons that were better than most of our private residences, unemployment.....only in the past 200 years have we brought ourselvs to this point and at least I have an idea of what I would do to reverse all this. Do you?
