Fun things to do with Alcohol inks

Remember those little wood thread spools I got at the garage sale a few weeks back?

Well, they cut right in half with pair of scissors. And Latte Alcohol Ink is just the best thing for making wood look old! Look at the difference between the inked and the uninked spool!

Take any metal charm....silver, pewter, brass, gold

And apply AI directly to it:

Even my background is AI. And some blending solution. And some Pearl Mixative. Using the polished stones technique...just put it all on your little piece of felt!

Just showing 3 very different things that you can do with alcohol inks! And yes....I wrapped some vintage colored thread around half of one spool! Details! It's all in the details! The fabric ruler and vintage colored safety pen are from Creative Impressions. Love their stuff!

Just another sample for upcoming classes at Scrapbook Your LIfe!

Hey Jen,

I've never commented on your blog before because basically I'm too lazy to since I get your updates by email and it would involve one more click on my computer...that said, "shame on me" because ever since I subscribed to your blog a few months ago, you have inspired me almost every day since.

I totally agree with your view on this orphan works bill. Initially I too was "alarmed" and wondered about people stealing my work and/or ideas. But, most of what I know about stamping has been influenced by reading blogs, etc., like yours. I've only been stamping for two years, and don't have anyone local to stamp with, so the internet has been my best teacher. I've come a long way since I began and I have to credit those who've gone before me as being my teachers. It would be sad if no one shared any of their work for fear of it being copied, etc. I probably would've given up stamping if it were so.

Thank you so much for all you do, and for all you share! You're a precious gem!

Anita! I'm so glad you like my blog! Any help or inspiration I can provide makes my day! I have loads of friends to stamp and scrap with....but there are still those days when no one is here and I need my own form of inspiration, so I totally understand! Hope you continue to enjoy the way I play!
