The other bird

I promised to show the design for the other bird on my pavers and pillows - it's not from cricut.  I found this adorable little chest at Hobby Lobby in the 80% off isle!!!  I simply had to have it.

Next, I took a photo of the front (above) and photoshopped it so I'd have paper to print in any size.  I used this bird as the pattern for my pavers and pillows.

The little dresser has 2 drawers and is next to my chair, so it stores all my remotes and my camera and dlownload cables - hopefully I will start blogging again if everything is close by!  The silk flowers are at least 25 years old and I still love them.  I have loads of Willow dolls sitting around in my little collections.  The dress form is a recent $5 garage sale find that I will alter sometime in the near future.

The YHWH wall hanging was also 80% off at Hobby Lobby.  Now, I had seen this when it first came out and knew that I wanted it, but wasn't sure where I'd put it.  When it got to 80% off and was still there, I decided it was meant to be!  I truly love how it all ended up.  The lamp was $9 at the local thrift store.  Next up, I'm looking for upholstery fabric to cover my chairs.  The sofas are fine, but the SW look of the chairs has got to go!!!

I'm so pleased to have this section of the living room where those who come to visit will know how much I love and adore Jehovah - who rightfully goes by all these names (I looked them all up!)  I happen to think if you love someone, you should let the world know - which is exactly what I'm doing through my home decor and my art!

Atlas Shrugs

Well, what does that mean??? Atlas equals "the world". Is it shrugging it's shoulders at Israel?

Or remember in school, there was this photo of atlas who had the world sitting on his shoulder? Did "he" shrug and the world shook?

Or has everyone in the world turned into an ostrich, stuck their head in the ground, and are willing to ignore what is going on beyond their current street address???

How much of the world do you know? Do you bother to read world news? Do you actually BELIEVE what they report on CNN and the evening world news? WHY????

Do you know what jihad means? What is happening to freedom of speech in other parts of this world?

Jihad is a religious duty of Muslims to invoke war against non-Muslims. It is the conquest of non-Muslim populations, forcing them to submit to Muslim rule.

OK, let me rephrase that one for you. Muslims believe that it is their job to force you to submit to Muslim rule if you are non-muslim. YIKES!!!

As much as I love Israel, there are millions who hate it. There are millions who want jihad against it and against Christians, against Jews, against anyone who is not muslim. WHERE are the world headlines about that little fact?????

What is your source of world news? Most newspapers simply tell us what they want us to "know". Here are some links you might want to read/subscribe to if you are really interested in what is going on in the world today.

Atlas Shrugs is actually a highly informative blog. If you don't read anything else, read this blog every single day!!! Pamela Geller. (I LOVE this gal!!!) She minces no words, gets right to the point, has a great sense of humor yet gets angry at just the right moment. There appear to be many who are trying to silence her, but I will do what I can to support her and encourage others to subscribe to her blog in order to learn the TRUTH about what is happening in this world.

And Pamela, if you run for senate...I promise, I will nominate myself in Colorado!!!

World Net Daily Much more informative than anything you will ever find on your local news or CNN! No more parental rights? Wow! Am I glad I'm the age I am! Yeah, there are a lot of ads and commercials....just read the content, not the ads.

If the world as we know it dissolves around us, then surely our world of art, our freedom of expression and freedom of creativity will end as we know it as well.

Wherever I stand, I stand with Isreal. And I have stood on this holy ground. I have walked by the Sea of Galilee, by the River Dan, on the Mount of Olives, and in the streets of Jerusalem. I have seen His handprint on the City of Old. And I knew every second that I was there just how holy it was, it is, and it will be.

I saw where "heaven on earth" will be. I truly long for the day that I can return.

Art comes in all forms. In words that are written, in poetry, in songs that are sung, in photography. Art is all around us, we just need to open our eyes to see it.

Art comes in freedom of expression.

Art is how I looked thru the lense of my camera. Art is how Jehovah God painted the landscapes that I photographed

Angels

On the sheet of stamps with the angels, there are a couple of sayings that you just can't see:

"Some angels come for a second and leave a mark that lasts forever.
Other angels stick around forever an leave their mark by the second."

"She looked out the windows of the airplane and there on the wings sat her angels....laughing at her worries! Right before she landed they grabbed hands and walked into the clouds, never bothering to look back. If you look, you will se them everywhere."

What do you believe about angels? Such a thought-provoking question...we all have our own individual answer. Regardless of any religious beliefs, I like to think that every person I meet has the potential to be an angel in my life. I try to listen to their stories, to learn the journey their life has taken them on to date, and to (hopefully) help them take a bit of time to play as they travel along their path.

This stamp is perfect for cards of any type....but I created it to use on cards so I could tell the angels in my life how I feel about them!




Here are snippets of things I have written about them in past scrapbook pages:

She walked up to me one day and said, “I like you. I want to be your friend.” And she has been ever since. Her daily phone calls get me through whatever it is I need to get through! She is the angel on the phone.

This angel’s son ran out into the street in front of my house and was hit by a passing truck. He died instantly. She said, “It’s not your fault, it could have happened anywhere. Don’t spend your time asking ‘what if’. It’s not ‘what if’…but it is ‘what is’.

The day she got engaged, her fiance's ex-wife showed up at their door and tried to shoot her. He stepped in front of her and took the bullet and died. Her courage through all this, her ability to go on in the face of such sheer devastation showed me that she really is an angel…here to show me how to survive anything that steps in front of me.

Cancer reared its ugly head and this angel denied it permission to grow. She told it to stop and it did. That was 10 years ago. Then she adopted her 10-year-old twin granddaughters because they had nowhere else to go. Amazing things these angels will do!!!

I’ve known this angel for 40 years. We met when we were 15. We live 1000 miles apart…but when I think of her, she calls. When she thinks of me, I call. She is definitely a telepathic angel!

When her youngest son was born, she found out that all 3 of her boys had Cystic Fibrosis. She put a smile on her face and said, “Well, I guess I will just get up in the morning and dress for the doctor’s office.” And that’s pretty much what she did every day of her life. Most CF kids die before they reach 12. Her boys are in college now. What an inspiration this angel is!!!

The godmother to both of my sons, this angel was my pastor’s wife for years. She is the angel who loves my children as much as I do.

The angel who got me through graduate school! Without her sitting by me in every class, working with me on every project, and studying with me for every exam, I never would have made it!

One look at this angel and I just know she’s going to tell me a great story and make me laugh. She can find humor in anything and everything. She has eyes that brighten my world!

My angel from Pakistan. I am her children’s “white” mom and she is my son’s “brown” mom. Together we have taught them to see past the barriers of color.

Just when I thought I was getting too old to have any more adventures…in popped a brand new angel to show me that life happens every moment of every day!!!

She sent me an email one day and said, “would you like to play with me?” I never dreamed I could play so hard at this age!!!
This angel comes to play all the time.

28 years ago this tiny angel was born to me. The hardest thing I’ve had to do was to learn to let this one fly on his own!

My sweet baby son, my sweet joy. Now 23, he is the angel I worry about the most.
