Neither rain nor snow nor sleet nor hail....

can keep us from having our Staving Artist's Sale!!! LOLOL!!! OK, so it was 90 degrees here on Friday and 90 degrees here on Sunday...BUT ON SATURDAY.....the day of our sale, it was 60 degrees and misting and spitting and sprinkling.....all day long. UNTIL EXACTLY 3 pm when we closed....and that's when the sun came out. I just stood there and laughed!!!

We pulled the kerosun space heater out and Chari dressed up like a scrappin scoutmaster. We sat around the "campfire" and hummed KumBayYa!

There were 4 canopies in the driveway and we really did not drop the yellow rope until 8 am. Yes, someone tried to sneak under it and we just shooed them back out!

and we named each one of them. Here's Judy's Joint:

and Susan's stockpile:

Jen's Jungle:

Kathy's Korner

Chari's Cache

and Peg's Playhouse

Everyone said they had a wonderful time. It started out just like a reunion and just grew as the day went on. I learned that bad weather will not keep crafter's from a sale! Some guy walked through and said he had never seen so much craft stuff in his entire life - we all decided that he was not married to a crafter! We heard one guy tell his wife as he dropped her off at the driveway, "you have 10 minutes" - I think we all gasped in unison! LOLOL!!!

Someone drove from Leadville (that's about 5 hours from here!) Our fellow Basement Baber - Kathleen - made it up from Colorado Springs to surprise us all! We had 2 shoppers who are both going on the Tim Holtz cruise next week that connected and met for the first time and that was quite fun to see their excitement over meeting. And I met neighbors that I didn't know.

Lot's of you asked if I was going to teach more classes. Yes. And I realized that my business card doesn't have my new email on it - it's jlowe54 at gmail dot com - so just send me a note and I'll add you to my class email list. We do keep a calendar at our Playshops blog.

So, everyone is asking, "how was the sale?" For me, personally, it was fabulous. I sold a ton of stuff, gave away a ton of stuff, made some really great deals....and still have enough stuff to open a store! LOL!!! The best deal was a non-profit entity that came by at 3 pm and bought all 6 of my 6' banquet tables for $125. BUT....in order for them to take them, they stayed and helped me unload everything over to the single car stall so Kerry could get his Camaro back into the garage that night. It was a total win-win for all of us!

My heartfelt thanks to Kathy, Susan, Judy, Peg, Chari and Karen for all their help in setting up, tearing down, and playing along for the event!

Bottom line - it doesn't matter what event the Starving Artists plan for the fall - it's going to snow, rain, drizzle, turn cold.....but it doesn't put a damper on a thing - we still just laugh and play.

It's getting out of hand! Sale Tomorrow!!!

I honestly don't know when I've had so much fun getting ready for a garage sale! This has been a riot. So, challenging myself...I decided to put my entire Revolution die-cutting system in the sale. This includes the 12" platform, all my quickutz dies, all the mats and pads and I've got mats to cut sizzlets and spellbinders dies for the 12" platform!

Then I decided to 1-up myself and I added my entire Sizzix system. Over $1200 worth of product! Again, I have the 6"x12" cutting platform for this - over 100 dies (Bigz, Bigz XL, regular, sizzlet, 12" and so on) and the wheeled tote! I'll be selling these systems as a whole and will not part them out.....but I guarantee you these are the deal of the day!

Did I mention storage? Decorated storage? Those $40 rounders, stuff like that! All going in the sale!

Here's a peek at just 2 rows of tables loaded with goodies! I've been up since 5 am and plan to be out there working all day long!!!

We hope to see you tomorrow at 8 am! 4 canopies in the driveway, but don't forget it's the garage where we've been setting up all this stuff for the past week!!! Hot dog, soda and chips for just $1.50. Chocolate is a penny a piece. We'll have music to shop by!

There's a free make-n-take, then one of the artists will be doing pendants with Opals Embossing Enamels, our Stampin-Up artist is doing a make-in-take and you can watch our polymer artist as she shows you how to make her wonderful beads. Meeting all these artists in one day....what's a crafter to do? LOL!!!

Lucy McGoo's Little Store

Some of you may have not known that for the past 4 years, I've had a little scrapbook store in my basement teaching studio. It's been primarily for my students.....things I think they might forget to bring to a class. But over time, I have added lots of fun stuff.

Sad to say with the changes coming next year for self employed individuals, I find it best to close my little store by the end of this year. But that's just good luck for everyone who doesn't attend my classes - I'm going to be listing a lot of it on ebay and you can have a chance to bid on it - most items are going to start at 99 cents and run for either 7 or 10 days with no reserve. I'm not going to do "buy it now" because I just think it's so much fun to do a "real" auction! But, if there's something you see that you want, you can always email me with an offer as I probably have more than 1 in my store.

You can always go right to my blog and scroll down on the right hand side to a frame that you can arrow through to see what's in my sore. Or bookmark this post and then click on this link to see what's new.

and if you click to the right of the image below, an arrow will come up and you can look at what's for sale any time.

If I don't get 99 cents for it - it will go in the big garage sale/art show the Starving Artists are having here on Sep 18. Should be fun!!!

Garage Sale!!!

If you live in the neighborhood, several artists are having a huge garage sale Friday & Saturday, June 18 - 19. 8 am - 1 pm. Poston Way in Boulder. The whole street is having sales, so just head over to 75th Street and follow the signs!

Over 1000 rubber stamps. Tim Holtz. Stampers Anonymous. Many great stamps. OK, so I own 2500 stamps and decided I don't need them all. Sorted through them and probably put a thousand of mine in the sale! Not to mention what the other gals are bringing!

Spellbinders, Sizzix, Cuttlebug stuff. ATCs. Altered art stuff. Distress ink pads (I'm cleaning out my teaching supplies). I literally filled up the back of the truck and took it over to Susan's today. It should be a fun sale!

Now you know why I've not been doing art.....I've been busy sorting, pricing, cleaning, organizing. How did I ever get so much stuff?

And this is just a preview sale!!! The huge, mega, gigantic art sale is going to be September 18th! Mark your calendars now. Come join about 20 local artists for that event. We'll be selling our art as well as our art supplies.

So, you know how it goes. When you go help set up, you shop as well. I seriously went with my hands tied. I wasn't going to come home with a thing. But Susan had a Zutter suitcase tote and had it priced at just $4.00. I have wanted one of those since I first saw them! So yes, it came home with me.

FOUR BUCKS!!! It really is true.....one man's junk - another man's treasure!!!

Green Friday on my blog!!!!

OK, why do they call today "black" Friday? I think we should call it green - as in green money, spend your money, go shopping, green light go.....I can think of a lot of reasons to call this "Green" Friday, not Black! LOL!

So....in honor of Green Friday - I'm going to offer you my "deals".

Many of you have written to me inquiring about the opals I have been using. No, they are not Suze's melt art. They are produced in Australia and are distributed in the US by After Midnight Stamps. But I will ship them to you anywhere in the world!!!

Click HERE and decide what colors you want and how much of each. Then email me with your order no later than 8 am MST on December 1. I will create an invoice and mail that to you and as soon as the product arrives here, I will ship it out to you.

Green bonus # 1: I will ship free anywhere in the US (if you live across the ponds, we'll negotiate a shipping discount for you!)

Green bonus # 2: I will give you 15% off your entire order (retail prices)!!!

Green bonus # 3: You can also order anything on this site and I will give you the above pricing!!!

Now note, they have lots of items already on sale, so if it's on sale, I will give you the lower of 15% off retail or the sale price, whichever is lowest.

BONUS!!! Although it's not on their website yet, I know you can order the Diamond Dust I've been using. 2 oz is just $3.50 and the above discounts will apply to that as well!!!

Green bonus # 4: That includes all of my Lucy Mcgoo stamps!!!

I know by the time you get my blog in your feed, you will have shopped til you drop. Can there be any more??? Of course there can!!! If you love to shop online, then Paper Craft Source is the place for you!!! You can actually fill out a "wish list", cut and past it into and email, and send it to me.

Green bonus # 5: Just shop HERE and get 15% off your entire order and free shipping!!!

Now, take some time to play around with that website - there are products hidden and buried on pages that are a little hard to find. I use the "search" field all the time. The "Christmas" category is the latest product and everything in "coming soon" is now available - as long as it's in stock!!!

Plan on about 10 days for delivery for all of these items - but it's worth the wait especially if you live in a remote area or all your local stores have closed down! I will invoice you first. You can paypal me or send me a check. If something is not in stock, I will send you an immediate refund.

So, FIVE reasons to go GREEN today rather than being black! I just thought that might be a little fun!

Deadline is 12/1 at 8 am MST. So you've got the entire weekend to go shopping!!!

Just call me "the enabler"!!! Oh! And if you shop enough here, there's no reason that you can't play along with opals and diamond dust now! LOLOL!!!

Shall I share with you my technique for coloring diamond dust? Check back tomorrow!!!

The 4 Moore Girls and brother, c 1962 - mom bought it all the day after Christmas the year before and hid it for a whole year from the 5 of us. Now, how did she manage that????

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Tombow!!!!

They sent me tape runners for my card-making classes at mom's retirement center! YEAH! And those gals just think they are the neatest things!!!

So a huge thank you to the folks at Tombow (Cathy!!!) for helping continue the arts with those up to 92 years old!!!

Now - I still need blank cards and envelopes, watercolor paper and paint brushes. Surely someone who reads my blog knows someone who know someone who would be happy to donate to these lovely ladies!!!

Today was our garage sale. It was just so much fun! So many crafters, scrapbookers, stampers and altered artists where here. We had people who came to my last garage sale 3 years ago come back and find things that match things they bought back then - things I had unpacked in more boxes. And even though I sold a ton today, I still have so much left over! If you looked at it, you'd think I hadn't sold a thing! It was just such a fun day, but man, am I exhausted! Just makes ya wonder if I can do another one 3 years from now?

HUGE Garage Sale June 21!!!

If you live anywhere near me, you gotta come play! Wear a hat! I'm giving out chocolate and soda and the music will be playing - just because it puts me in a mood to drop the prices! LOL!

I have been cleaning and cleaning, sorting through stuff and it's all going out on the street at 8 am! I have so much stuff and you might as well come get it and take it home and play with it!

If you missed my blog on "more Moore stuff" just click the link above on "so much stuff"!!!

We put an ad up on Craigslist and I just keep finding more things I don't use! I promise to add photos to the ad on craigslist on Friday. So just check back. Right now, it's all in piles in the garage. I can't bring the tables up until tonight because I'm having my one year anniversary party of the Basement Babes group today. Actually, right now, we're all watching "the Bucket List". Tomorrow, I'llhave to post the projects we made today! Just so many different ways to play and so little time!

Can I just light a match?

I'm sorting through boxes and piles of craft supplies....and I think it would be easier to just light a match and burn the whole place down!

Now really, isn't this what your mess looks like? LOLOL!!!

OK, I am really trying to do a good thing here. I'm trying to get all of my little 3 drawer bins that are 10" wide empty so I can take them down to mom to help organize her new place. (I love it when I post this stuff, she reads it, then emails me that she doesn't need it....way too late!)

Now, on a very good day, this is what it is supposed to look like. Well....obviously I've had ONE good day....whenever it was that I took this photo!

So my question of the day is.....how messy do you let your play place get before you decide it's a pigpen and force yourself to clean it up? I think today may just be the day for me!!!

Saturday, June 21, 2008. There's a neighborhood garage sale in my addition. I think I may just have to put half of this stuff out in the driveway and see if I can downsize the fast, quick and easy way! Anyone feel like a road trip to Colorado???

Coast to Coast Yard Sale

Did you know that this weekend is the 9th annual Great US 50 Yard Sale? Dad used to own the Texaco Gas Station in Cotopaxi CO right on Hwy 50. I've traveled parts of that road more often than I care to remember in my life. But a nation-wide garage sale along a single road? WOW! And they are calling it "Route 50"....a spin on Route 66? LOL!

Well, I hate to say this, but I think it's also national garage sale weekend here in Denver. I was supposed to go help my girlfriend take photos of stuff she wants to list on craigs list today. I was on my way to her place and she called and had to reschedule. So I was out and decided to go to garage sales....there were signs everywhere. The first one I stopped at...I stayed for TWO HOURS!!! Yep, it was great! So I thought I'd share today's purchases...and let you know that I'm definitely helping the economy!!!

This paint rack completely full of paint...and most of the bottles have never been opened, the seals are still on them.

A second paint rack

Duplicate paint that will go to mom's for our card-making classes (mom's gonna freak when she reads this blog!!!)

Big bottles of paint as well

The paint was $12. The racks were $7 each.

7 books to cover and 200 bookmarks....$1.25 :o)

A cuttlebug mat and tin hearts....another $1.25

Imagine what I'll do with these rulers...all for 25 cents!

These wood plugs make great door handles for cards, pages and more...all for a quarter!

We just used up my sponges yesterday, so I was delighted to get these. And I can always use more stencils! 25 cents each!

I will never use this many spools in my life....so some will go into my little store. But these are about 1/4" and 1/2" tall....a great find!

No idea what we'll do with these....but I feel a class coming on! Another quarter spent!

I'm sure I can incorporate leather into my card making classes. It was just a quarter. HOW could I pass it up???

All 6 punches for 50 cents! Well, I do have the flower...but none of the others. Guess I will gift the flower to some lucky reader! :o) First person to send me an idea for a card making class for the retirement center can have the punch!

These are the very same little blocks that I use when I wrap keys (an on the syringe on mom's layout). All these for a quarter. Can you tell about now my adrenaline was high as a kite?

Guess mom's gals will be painting clothespins as well. Small and large...I have a few ideas for these! Yep, another quarter for the whole bag!

A bag of little worry dolls. Definitely ok for cards!

I have been so blessed to have so many items published and I like to keep my magazines on display in a rack like this

But I had sort of outgrown the single rack that I had. This garage sale had 2 more racks at $5 each...I grabbed them so fast! I've got 1 1/2 full....and with more items at Stampington waiting to be published, I know I'll fill the second one and start on the third one soon! Yes, I could just stack them all, but this way, I can grab the book or magazine whenever someone has a question. Besides....Kerry is totally impressed with this display! :o)

As you can see...it was such a fun day! I even called my sis and told her she needs to come to Denver tomorrow as there were tons of signs out for sales that start tomorrow! It's going to be a fun day! Maybe I'll run into you at one of the sales!!!
