my life as an artist/nurse

My last post was 1/29.  My husband had spinal fusion surgeries on 1/30 and 2/2.  My life as an artist has turned into a life as a nurse.  He has had numerous complications and it seems that he makes 1 step forward on one issue and 3 steps backwards on another issue.  I have spent the last 5 days in ICU or in surgery waiting rooms.  If you are my "friend" on FB, you can follow my daily updates there.  Prayers are requested for him.  He is back in "mini" surgery this morning for another procedure.

Remember my healing journal?  Perhaps I will have to add a few pages/comments once this "journey" has reached it's conclusion.  I'm glad I did it when I did.  I still think I knew I needed to remind myself what healing is all about.

O Jen!
I'm sorry to hear your husband is struggling so badly! I will keep you both in my prayers!
In September '09, my husband and I each had surgery a week apart! I cared for him after his knee surgery for a week (poor thing!) and he cared for me after my neck surgery (2 discs replaced! 3 month recovery!). We were a mess!
Almost a year to the date of his return to work, he had to have emergency heart surgery (Dec '10). He's doing wonderfully now, but what a struggle it has been!
hang in there... it'll get better!

Jen...

I will be praying for you both! I have had a similar journey with my scrubby since October...he received a kidney transplant...which is a phenomenal gift -- but the process of healing was a bit overwhelming and we spent a LOT of time in ICU/waiting/hospital rooms. I know you feel , as I did, that you are glad you can aid him in his journey to health...but it is one of the most draining experiences of your life -- in addition to the fact that it creates a situation where you can't get into your "artist" mode - which would actually help you through that process....

Know that you know the Great Physician...so will be praying for His very real Presence in your lives....

Blessings,
Jann
