Leftover Tea

Most of these cards were made with leftover scraps from the teacup I made the day after mom died.  So I think they are simply gorgeous!  Simple, sweet...and enhanced with so much glitter!!!

Now, if this card doesn't get to to singing that 70s hit...or was it 60s?  I can't remember!

I'm old enough these days to understand that my entire life has been about creating the person I am today.  Fortunately, I have no complaints!  And I'm lucky as I have no regrets!

So, I used to think this saying was so true.  But not any more.  When one downsizes, that means they downsize their shoes as well!  No more heels - everything is flat.  No more shoes that sparkle and shine, everything is about comfort these days.  If you get a blister on your toe, it's time to increase the size!  LOL!!!

My neighbors grow roses and I am so blessed that I can look across the street and see all their beauty....and I didn't have to lift a finger!  I think they should have a tea party in their garden next spring.  Am I allowed to invite myself?

When I first looked at this card, it made me feel happy.  Thus the title.  Isn't it great when something just gives you that feeling?

A sheet of paper so gorgeous....made this card so easy!  Found the paper at the Stamp House here in town.

Nothing but scraps and leftovers.  So many people toss them.  I just make cards with mine!

I have been so busy this week trying to catch up from the estate sale.  A second sale coming up this weekend and I'll be there working.  Hope you can make it!!!

Gorjuss

I picked up a die cut kit at the show at The Rubber Cafe on Friday and this weekend I made a dozen new cards using bits and pieces of old kit papers with the new images.

The images are simply called gorjuss.  Designed by Suzanne Woolcott, an artist from Scotland, now living in the UK.  I think they are just too cute!

The kit came with 48 sheets.  Most of the background papers were too dark for me and that's why I just used other paper that I had.  Oh!  And loads of stickles!

Enjoy!

Easiest cards ever

So easy - emboss the dotted background, rub distress ink over it.  Diecut 4 circles, cut the edges off, distress edges.  Peel off ticker, diecut edge, add flower with brad and stickle everything!

This is from a HOTP kit....just cut it out, adhere to card and stickle.

Simple scraps that I inked, layered and put the peel off on white paper, then cut it out.  The metal inked diecut on the left was a scrap as well - leftover from another project.

I really think my favorite thing this summer was using scraps from other projects to make cards.  I sometimes think my scrap pile never ends....but it is getting a little smaller!  OK - I promise to blog something else tomorrow and take a break from all the cards!  But really, I think I made over a hundred this summer!  It was a great thing to do when it got so hot in the middle of the day I couldn't work in the yard.  Hope you have enjoyed the ones I've shared so far!

Some non-dolly cards

Design U'R Memories offers numerous card-making classes each month.  I try to take them when I'm here.  They cost about $20 and I figure I walk away with enough stuff to make 20 - 25 cards.  Well worth it!  But I do need to get current with my blogging as I can't remember which cards I made in class and which ones I made at a crop!  I think this was from a class...but then they wouldn't have used the diecut on top, so maybe not!  LOL!!! Oh!  Where did I leave my memory???

The background for this card was a class....but everything else I added!  Lots of Graphic 45 paper on this one.  I did love the secret garden series.

I demo'd distress inks and how you can make the sky and grass and then stamp trees.  So easy to turn these demo samples into cards...

I did a challenge once on how to make 20 cards in 20 minutes.  This would be one of those.  The card is actually a tag from the secret garden line with 2 layers of paper cut for the mats, then stickles on top and a peel-off sentiment.  I am really liking peel-offs these days!

So, how many cards can you make in 20 minutes?  I can't do that many any more as I need to break for chocolate way too often!  :o)

Dressing up a clothespin

This one is gigantic.  At least 6" tall and 2" wide.  I just used scraps, stickles, and silk ribbon.

painted it pink before I started (it's wood) and then stickled all over the paint.

You'd never know it's a clothespin when you look at it from the front!

I made 2 smaller ones - gave them to the local scrapbook store.  Thought I had photo'd them, but you know how that is! They came out so pretty and dainty - who knew a clothespin could look so great?

Make your own borders

Oh, I do like this one.....just lay out dies in any fashion that you want on the new long kit (the cut mat is magnetic) and run them through. You can see what I cut out (has blue behind it) and what I embossed, inked and added back to the top. The possibilities are simply endless!

And here's one I made with leftover scraps from a class.....I think this is going to be a class bonus! Just added a little bit of Crystal Stickles to it.

You really should be out here in San Diego....we are going to learn so much and just play so hard!!! I hope to be doing some live videos of classes....we'll just see how technologically apt I can get! Ha!
