The Holy City

I sang that song in a high school performance and today, the words came  to my thoughts.

"I stood in old Jerusalem beside the temple there"

The Temple is not here, but I stood beside where it will be.

 

Isn't it amazing that you can walk to the top of Temple Mount.  You can take photos of where it will one day be.

 

To see buildings that have stood the test of time for centuries

 

To realize that there's so much more than just the dome of the rock on Temple Mount today

 

To see the aged trees that have been growing for years

 

These arches run down the Western side of the top

 

And then to come down and pray at the Wall.

 

And view the gold menorah that has been created in preparation for the Messiah's return.

And this is looking east towards the Mount from the top of the Old City.

 

Jerusalem! Jerusalem!
Sing for the night is o'er!
Hosanna in the highest!
Hosanna forevermore!
